Births and Birth Rate.
The total number of births notified to the Health Department under
the Notification of Births Acts was 685.
The total number of registered births under the Births and Deaths
Registration Act (included in the notified births above) was 525.
The total number of births belonging to t he district whether occurring
within or outside the district was 759.
The illegitimate births were 27, and there were 21 still-births.
This gives a birth rate per 1,000 population of 16.25 and a stillbirth
rate per 1,000 total (live and still) births of 26.9
The monthly registration of births classified as to districts is given in
Table No. 4.
