To the Mayor, Aldermen and Councillors of the Borough of Heston and Isleworth.
Lady and Gentlemen,
I beg to present the Annual Report on the health, vital statistics and sanitary
circumstances of the Borough and on the work of the various sections of the Health Department
for the year 1938.
The report is compiled on the lines indicated by the Ministry of Health and for
convenience some of the statistical tables are grouped together at the end of the report.
As I was in office for only two months of the year under review no attempt has
been made to comment on all the activities of the Health Department. There are no special
features to record in connection with the health of the Borough and the work of the Health
Department continued on the lines described in previous reports. The new Hounslow Health
Centre, brought into use in October, is greatly appreciated by staff and patients.
I should like to take this opportunity of expressing my thanks for the kindly
manner in which I was received when I took up my new duties. To the officials of the various
departments and to my staff I am especially grateful.
