Nutrition
No Public Propaganda has been undertaken to disseminate public knowledge of nutrition
since the demonstration under the Carnegie Trustees auspices at lsleworth in November, 1934.
A few Lectures have been given at Busch House in the Maternity and Child Welfare
Clinic, and two lectures have been given to different Societies in the District.
It is proposed next Winter, when the new Clinic at Busch House is completed, to have a
definite series of Cookery Lectures with a nutritional basis to be given at the Maternity and Child
Welfare Clinics.
The year 1935 has seen the conclusion of the Carnegie Trust Nutritional Research and
progress towards the report and the writing of the Cookery Book as suggested by the Trustees.
This work has finally been hampered by the appointment of Miss Hook by the Board of
Education to the post of Inspector, a post well deserved in view of her experience. Miss Bruce
took up other work and her assistants have had to be intermittent. The results, however, when
finally published should be of real value in helping to economise, and at the same time provide an
adequately nutritious diet to those with limited means.
