at the School Clinic after treatment.
(e). Cleansing of Heads.
The fee of Is. per case is paid by the parents direct to Mrs. Yates, who does the cleansing.
Mrs. Yates pays these fees into the Borough Treasurer's Office.
18.—HEALTH EDUCATION.
The only talk given to school children by a member of the Authority's staff was by one of
the Health Visitors to a class of 50 girls who were about to leave the Bulstrode Senior Girls'
School. The topic was " Washing the Baby."
The class had previously had lessons at school with a doll for a model, but on the occasion
of the demonstration by the Health Visitor a baby was available through the kindness of a mother
who attends one of the Maternity and Child Welfare Centres.
A similar talk was given by another Health Visitor last year. Pressure of work in all our
sections prevents an extension of this sort of instruction but its usefulness and interest to girl
" Leavers " is fully realised.
19.—SPECIAL ENQUIRIES.
See Dr. Roberts' report on pages 13 to 15 with regard to vision testing.
20.—MISCELLANEOUS.
Thirty-one teachers were medically examined during the year in connection with their
appointments on the teaching staff of the Authority.
Eighty-eight candidates for scholarships at the Spring Grove Central School were also
examined.
Under an arrangement with the Middlesex County Council and the Central Association for
Mental Welfare we have undertaken the annual medical inspection of the children attending the
Hounslow Occupation Centre. Twenty children were examined during 1933. Eight of these
were found to need treatment on account of dental caries, and two for enlarged Tonsils and
Adenoids. Two cases have received treatment at the School Dental Clinic.
