Twenty samples of milk were taken in course of delivery to
retailers in Heston and Isleworth. These were submitted to the
Lister Institute for animal inoculation tests for the presence of
tubercle bacilli. One sample was found to contain living tubercle
bacilli and was traced to a farm in Berkshire. As a result of
communicating with the County Medical Officer of Berks it was
ascertained that one cow on the farm in question had been found to
be wasting and had been sent to the knacker's."
