No difficulty has been experienced in carrying out the instructions
of the Consulting Dental Surgeons, owing to the lucid way
in which their report have been made. The children come up in a
large proportion of the cases unaccompanied by the parent after
the first visit or so.
With regard to the expansion plates and screws, the mothers
in the majority of cases after a fortnight's instruction, are provided
with a screw-driver and make a quarter turn every two days,
or such other movements as are directed.
A special Sub-Committee has been appointed which meets once
a month to consider cases whose means are such that they cannot
pay the whole sum.
One of the most satisfactory things is the gratitude of the
parents at the elimination of the deformities, which so many of
them say they wish they had had the chance of getting treated in
their early days.
The accompanying diagrams illustrate some of the difficulties
which must be met with in every Dental Clinic.
