The method of disposal is that each day's tipping is completely
covered with earth.
During the year as a result of action taken there were supplied
215 new ashbins.

Nuisances, Contraventions of Bye-Laws, Defective Drainage, etc.
The number of premises on which nuisances were outstanding
at the end of 1927 was 591. To these another 882 premises whereat
nuisances were recorded in 1928 were added, giving a total of
1473 premises. Of these 1219 had the nuisances remedied, leaving
254 premises at which nuisances still existed at the end of the year.
During the year, nuisances at 6 houses were reported to the
Health Committee, which added to the 24 brought forward from
1927, made a total of 100. Before asking the authority to serve
statutory notices, the premises are inspected by the Medical Officer
of Health. Statutory notices were authorised and served in most
of these cases, and by the end of the year, the nuisances were remedied
in 27 of the houses, and in one ease it was decided to take
no further action, leaving 72 cases to be carried forward to 1928.
