summoned to the Inspection Clinics and the necessary data
obtained. These represent the limits of the services renedered bv
the School Medical Staff. I am unable to say what relationship
exists between the Juvenile Employment Committee and the
Certifying Factory Surgeon for the District.
MISCELLANEOUS.
Medical Examination of Teachers.
During the year 28 medical examinations were made of
teachers, in connection with their appointment under the Authority.
Holiday Home for Children.
All children recommended for the King Edward VII Memorial
Home, Heme Bay, are medically examined before being sent away.
CRIPPLE CHILDREN.
By the Education Act, 1921, Section 55, the Local Education
Authority are required to ascertain what children in their area
are physically defective and to make provision for them. (Set
Table III.).
There is no provision in the district for such children.
SCHOOL CLINICS.
During the year the second weekly Clinic at which the Doctor
attends was reinstated at Hounslow.
At the beginning of the Autumn a new Clinic was opened at
Heston where a nurse attends daily at 9 a.m. to treat minor ailments,
but at present no Medical Officer attends there.
The Clinics therefore are treatments daily by a nurse at the
Public Hall, Isleworth, the Health Department, Hounslow, and
the Parish Hall, Heston.
The Medical Officer attends once a week at Isleworth and twice
at Hounslow.
In spite of the extra Hounslow Clinic the numbers are still
very large and the Clinics unduly prolonged, and it will be necessary
to arrange for a Medical Officer to attend at Heston once a
week, which should relieve some of the Hounslow congestion, as
well as making it easier for children living at Heston.
