Premises and Occupations controlled by Bye-laws or Regulations.
There are 429 known places in this district which call for
periodical inspection as follows : —
Houses let in Lodgings, Common Lodging Houses, Bakehouses,
Slaughter-houses, Cowsheds, Dairies and Milkshops,
Offensive Trades, Laundries (non-factory), Workshops, Workplaces
and Outworkers.
SCHOOLS.
In this district there are 1.3 public elementary schools and one
Central school, 3 are modern buildings, the remainder being for the
most part old and lacking in up-to-date sanitary conditions.
