Slaughter-houses, Cowsheds, D.lines and Milkshops,
Offensive Trades, Laundries (non-factory), Workshops, Workplaces
and Outworkers.
SCHOOLS,
In this district there are 13 public elementary schools of which
3 are modern, the remainder being for the most part old and lacking
in up-to-date sanitary conditions.

Milk.
No material change has been observed during the past year in
the conditions under which cow-keeping and milk-vending are carried
on in the district. 201 inspections were carried out in respect of
dairies and milkshops.
Unofficial milk analyses are made by the Medical Officer of
Health.
1. Meat Inspection.—The Chief Sanitary and the District
Sanitary Inspectors hold special certficates for meat inspection.
Slaughter-houses and butchers' shops are visited psriodically, but
during the year no diseased meat was seized, but 332 lbs. was
surrendered. There are 8 slaughter-houses and 30 butchers' shops
in the district. Each slaughter-house received on an average 213
visits per month ; there is therefore room for improvement.
2. Public Abattoir.—There is no public abattoir in the district
nor are there any arrangements for meat being inspected at the
time of slaughter. Killing may take place any time.
