School Medical Officer: W. BRAMWELL REID, m.b., d.p.h.
Health Department,
Council House,
Hounslow.
31st March, 1917.
To the Chairman and Members of the Heston and Isleworth
Urban District Education Committee.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The School Medical Service was carried on during the year
on similar lines to those adopted in the previous year, and the
volume of work actually done was rather more.
The provision of x-ray treatment for ringworm has been amply
justified by the marked diminution in the number of cases and
the corresponding saving of school attendances. The clinic for
the prescription of spectacles has also been successful.
It is with profound, regret that I have to record the loss of
Dr. T. Strain, my predecessor, while on Active Service with the
R.A.M.C. in France.
I am, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your obedient servant,
W. BRAMWELL REID,
School Medical Officer.
