DEATH RATE, 1894-1915.
Heston and Isleworth
England and Wales
Births.
The total number of births registered during the year was 978,
but 37 of these did not belong to this district, while 16 births
properly belonging to this district occurred outside the district.
The nett number of births thus attributable to the district is
957, giving a birth-rate of 19.64 per 1,000. The birth-rate of
England and Wales is 218 per 1,000. This low and falling birthrate
is especially serious if we bear in mind the fact that the
Infantile Mortality Rate is over 100 per 1,000 births.
