It will be seen that adverse reports were received upon eleven samples
and following is a brief account of the action taken in respect thereof:-
BEF.F SAUSAGES AND PORK SAUSAGES.
The Public Analyst reported that these samples contained an added
preservative and no notices to this effect were exhibited in the retail
shops at the time of purchase of the samples. The Health Committee
instructed the Town Clerk to send warning letters to the retailers concerned.
BLUE CHEESE DRESSING.
Two labels were affixed to the bottle containing this formal sample
of Blue Cheese Dressing which had been imported from the U.S.A. The
wording on each of the labels was not identical and in neither case did it
conform to the requirements of the Labelling of Food Order 1953.
Correspondence with the distributors resulted in stocks being withdrawn and
en undertaking was given that subsequent stocks would be correctly labelled.
