WHITE BREAD (l).
Part of a loaf of white bread containing foreign matter was submitted
to the Public Analyst for examination. The foreign matter proved to consist
of poppy seeds which appeared to have been accidentally incorporated in the
dough. The Bakery firm was advised as to this incident.
WHITE BREAD (2).
Half a loaf of white bread containing foreign matter was submitted to
the Public Analyst. The foreign matter proved to be part of a flour sack
label. The Baker was interviewed and a warning given.
OTHER LEGAL PROCEEDINGS.
An oval l½" nail was found embedded in a wrapped sliced loaf of bread
which was supplied from a bakehouse outside the Borough. Legal proceedings
were instituted, and the Defendants pleaded guilty. They were fined £5 and
ordered to pay £2.2.0. costs.
