During April an outbreak of foot and mouth disease occurred within the
area of the Borough of Epsom and Swell, and an Order made under the Foot and
Mouth Disease (Infected Areas Restrictions) Order 193, included the Borough
of Wimbledon- The necessary signposting of roads during the period of the
restriction was undertaken by the Surrey County Council.
Two visits were made during the year to a piggery which is licensed by
the Council under the Diseases of Animals (Waste Foods) Order 1957 for the
boiling of foodstuffs for the feeding of animals.
NOISE ABATEMENT ACT 1960
This Act came into operation on the 27th November, 1960, and was added to
the Powers and Duties of the Health Committee. No offences under this Act
were recorded up to the end of 1960.
