MATERNAL MORTALITY
There was one death associated with childbirth during 1958 compared
with a nil return for the preceding year.
The cause of death in this case was acute puerperal metritis
following a live delivery in an institution situated outside the Borough.
This maternal death was only the third which has occurred in the
Borough during the past ten years.
