It will be seen that adverse reports were received upon 7 samples
and the following is an account of the action taken in respect thereof:-
Bread.
This informal sample consisted of a portion of a small white loaf
which contained a number of small black particles. The sample was
submitted to the Public Analyst, who expressed the opinion that the
discolouration of the dough was due to the inclusion of small drops
of lubrication oil or grease. As the result of an investigation it was
found that the lubrication of the bakehouse machinery was defective,
and the baker concerned took measures to ensure that the defects were
rectified.
Glycerine, honey and oil of lemon.
This informal sample consisted of a bottle of medicine (glycerine,
honey and oil of lemon with citric acid). The Public Analyst reported
