The following table shows the position in Wimbledon at the end of 1953 with regard to overcrowding.

Rehousing.
I am indebted to the Housing Manager for the following information
regarding rehousing in Wimbledon. These figures relate to the
position at 31st December, 1953:—
Number of houses requisitioned since the beginning of
the war and still held under requisition 444
Number of prefabricated bungalows provided since the
end of the war 71
Number of families rehoused by the Council or by
private owners at the Council's instigation since the
beginning of the war 1,956
Number of live applications on the housing waiting list 1,663
New houses erected, etc.

following information:—
