Puerperal Pyrexia Regulations 1951.
These Regulations came into operation on 1st August, 1951, and
replaced existing Regulations with certain modifications including a
revised definition of puerperal pyrexia. The present condition requiring
to be notified is "any febrile condition occurring in a woman in whom
a temperature of 100.4° Fahrenheit (38° Centigrade) or more has
occurred within fourteen days after childbirth or miscarriage".
Two notifications of puerperal pyrexia were received during the
year.
