SECTION F. — PREVALENCE OF, AND CONTROL
OVER, INFECTIOUS AND OTHER DISEASES.
Notifications of Infectious Disease.
During the year there were 668 cases of infectious disease
notified, as compared with 969 during 1949. Of the total notifications
364 were in respect of measles and 181 in respect of whooping cough.
Diphtheria.
There were no cases of diphtheria notified during 1950. Three
patients suspected to be suffering from this disease were found, after
admission to hospital, to be suffering from tonsillitis.
Immunisation against Diphtheria.

The authority responsible immunisation in this area is the Surrey County Council.

Paratyphoid Fever.
Three cases of paratyphoid fever were notified during the year,
he patients being members of one family. Two of them — a baby
ged 14 months and the father — became ill and were treated in
lospital. The child's mother was subsequently found to be a carrier
nd she also agreed to enter hospital for treatment.
