Notification of Births Acts, 1907 and 1915.

During the year, six hundred and fifteen births were notified by the following persons:—

Parents12
Midwives277
Doctors42
Other persons284
Total615

Seventeen of these notifications were in respect of stillbirths.
Of the six hundred and fifteen notifications, two hundred
and fifty-nine were received from Medical Officers of Health
of outside areas, and related to births which had occurred
to Wimbledon residents confined outside the Borough.
Similarly, forty-five confinements occurred in Wimbledon
amongst women whose homes were situated in other districts.
The net number of notified births belonging to Wimbledon
is therefore five hundred and seventy.
During the past few years, special attention has been
paid by the Public Health Department to the prompt notification
of births occurring in Wimbledon. It is gratifying to
report that with very few exceptions the requirements of
the Notification of Births Acts are now being complied with.
Deaths.—The total number of deaths registered in the
district was four hundred and sixty-six (one hundred and
ninety-seven males and two hundred and sixty-nine females),
equal to a death rate of 7.92 per thousand of the population
per annum.

The deaths occurring outside the district, of persons belonging to this Borough, were two hundred and thirty-two, namely:—
