I submit herewith the report of Mr. Johnson, the Chief
Sanitary Inspector. The report deals in detail with the work
of the Sanitary Inspectors during the year.
I should like to take this opportunity of again expressing
my appreciation of the manner in which Mr. Johnson and the
inspectorial staff have carried out their duties.
REPORT OF CHIEF SANITARY INSPECTOR
I beg to submit my Report of the work carried out for the
year ended 31st December, 1932. Table III gives a summary
in detail of the various nuisances abated and sanitary improvements
effected.
Notices Served.—Seven hundred and nine Preliminary
Notices or intimations were served during the year in respect
of 727 houses. It was found necessary to serve 102 Statutory
Notices upon the owners or occupiers of 56 houses.
Six hundred and fifty-one enquiries received from the Town
Clerk's Department were replied to, regarding 756 properties
where negotiations for sale were in progress.
