Borough of Wimbledon.
Public Health Department.
ANNUAL REPORT
of the
Medical Officer of Health
for the
Year ended 31st December, 1930.
To the Mayor, Aldermen, and Councillors
of the Borough of Wimbledon.
Mr. Mayor, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to submit the Annual Report on the
work of the Public Health Department for the year ending 31st
December, 1930, together with my Report as School Medical
Officer. The Report for 1930 is of a more simple character than
the full survey report which was prepared in 1925. It contains,
however, information on certain matters in more detail than has
been given for the last four years, i.e.,
(a) the transfer of the Poor Law functions in pursuance
of the Local Government Act of 1929. In Wimbledon,
the only functions transferred are those under
Part I. of the Children Act 1908.
(b) Additional information concerning Housing conditions
in the district.
Staff and Administration.
A full list of the staff of the Public Health and School
Medical Departments is given at the commencement of the
respective Annual Reports. One of the Health Visitors, Miss
Kenion, left to take up an appointment elsewhere and Miss
Hyde was appointed in her place.
Examination of Employees:—During the year 1930,
82 employees were medically examined by the
Medical Officer of Health. In addition 47 candidates
were mcdically examined for superannuated posts
under the Wimbledon Borough Council.
