Infantile Mortality:—There were 38 infant deaths during
the year (including transferable deaths), giving a rate of 49
per thousand registered births, an increase of 3 per thousand
on last year's figures, when there were 35 deaths and a rate
of 46. The infant death rate for illegitimate children was 113
per thousand illegitimate births.
