Under these circumstances it is extremely difficult to know
what to recommend, as there is as great a danger of overestimating
as of under-estimating. The whole question is
being very carefully considered in view of future developments,
and meanwhile, I can state definitely that no child is
at present suffering from want of special facilities. 60 special
interviews were given to parents during the year in regard
to such special eases.
Employment of Children and Young Persons:—35 children
were specially examined and certified as to employment.
Special bye-laws, on the lines recommended by the Home
Office, are enforced in Wimbledon.
Two Teachers were examined with a view to employment.
In conclusion, I desire to thank the members of my staff
for loyal co-operation, and to congratulate them on the work
carried out during the year.
I have the honour to be,
Your obedient servant,
A. GILMOUR,
School Medical Officer.
20, Queen's Road, Wimbledon.
15th February, 1927.
