ANNUAL REPORT
OF THE
SCHOOL MEDICAL OFFICER
FOR THE
Year ended 31st December, 1926.
To the Members of the Education Committee
of the Borough of Wimbledon.
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to submit my Annual Report on the
Medical Inspection and Treatment of School Children in the
Wimbledon area for the year ending 31st December, 1926.
The Report has been prepared on the lines suggested by
the Chief Medical Officer of the Board of Education in 1920,
and in accordance with the Schedule to Form 6M1 (15th
November, 1926).
Administration:—
(a) Staff:—No change.
(b) New Dental Clinic:—For some years the accommodation
at the Southey Hall Clinie has proved unsatisfactory
for the purposes of a conjoint medical and dental treatment
Clinic. The dental operating room was too small and in
warm weather the atmosphere became stifling; there was no
"recovery" room in which the children could rest after a
general anesthetic; and the waiting room was liable to overcrowding
during conjoint sessions.
