Of tli'C 37 deaths fironi Pulmonary Tuberculosis, 13 died
outside the district (6 males and 7 females), i.e., notification of
death was transferred to Wimbledon. Of the 8 Non-Pulmonary
deaths, 1 male and 1 females died outside the district.
Of the 8 non-Pulmonary Tuberculosis deaths, 4 were due to
Meningitis, and one each to Peritonitis, Kidney infection, Endocarditis,
and General Tuberculosis.
LABORATORY WORK.
Bacteriological examinations of pathological specimens and
the use of antitoxin, were first undertaken in the Wimbledon
area about 1896.

The number of specimens of serum, sputum and blood submitted for bacteriological examination during the year in doubtful cases of diphtheria, pulmonary tuberculosis and typhoid fever, and the result of such examinations are given below.
