Scarlet Fever.—The total number of cases notified during
the year, was 170 from 135 houses. The attack rate was 2.9 per
thousand of the population. There were 2 deaths, corresponding to a death-rate of .03 per thousand of the population.

In one house there were six cases, in three houses, four
cases, in four houses, three cases, in thirteen houses, two cases,
and in the remaining 114 houses, one case.
138 or 81 per cent. of the cases were treated in the Borough
Isolation Hospital, Gap Road. The disease was of a mild type.
72 per cent, of the cases notified were children of School
age, five to fifteen years, and of these, 113 attended the following
schools:—
