Petroleum Acts.—Sixty-five applications were received
for permission to keep petroleum, 59 being for the renewal
of existing licences, and six for new ones.
Two hundred inspections were made of the various
premises in respect of which licences had been issued.
Diseases of Animals Acts, 1894 to 1911.
Parasitic Mange.—Only one case of this disease was
notified during the year, the information being received from
the Veterinary Surgeon attending the case. Following investigations
the usual notices for detention were served and the
Ministry of Agriculture and the Police Authorities notified.
The premises were kept under observation, and, on the animal
recovering from the disease, disinfection notices were served.
Subsequently, the restrictions were withdrawn and the
clearance notices sent to the owner, the Ministry of
Agriculture, and the Police Authorities.
Foot and Mouth Disease.—No case of this disease was
notified, but quite a number of Orders, which included
Wimbledon in the Infected Area, and, later, in the Restricted
Area, were received. As usual when such orders are in force,
the Department dealt with a considerable number of enquiries,
and issued the requisite movement licences.
