Of these 10, one girl was reported to the Board of Control;
one boy obtained employment as a gardener, and one boy is
"cobbling" at home.
My medical work at this School has been a matter of some
difficulty owing to the fact that my duties, as Medical Officer of
Health and as Medical Superintendent at the Isolation Hospital,
in some instances prevent stated hours being kept. For this
reason I have asked the Wimbledon Education Committee to
approach the Board of Education with a view to sanctioning
the appointment of my Assistant as Certifying Officer under the
Acts. The actual examinations in school could thus be conducted
with regularity and the supervision of the scholars
would be more thorough.
In conclusion I desire to thank all Head Teachers and
Teachers who have given their cordial assistance in a year
when reconstruction of medical work caused some disturbance
of routine.
I have the honour to be,
Your obedient servant,
A. GILMOUR,
School Medical Officer.
