It should be noted that many of the above children are
sent by the family doctor for certification just as many cases
are referred for treatment. Children attending hospitals are
also certified by the School Medical Officer and of the above
476, 89 were under such treatment.
Report of Assistant School Medical Officer.
Dr. Effie M. D. Craig reports as follows:—
"During the last year there have been great alterations
in the Staff and working of the Department at Southey Hall.
Owing to the resignation of Nurse Walker, one of our most
able nurses, a vacancy was created which it was decided not to
fill. The work for the preparation of Medical Inspection and
attendance with the Medical Officer at the schools was taken
over for the most part by the three Health Visitors, Miss
Hulse, Miss Giles, and Miss Hurst. The work was arranged as
follows:—
Miss Hulse, Central, Cottenham Park and Dundonald
Road Schools.
Miss Giles, Wimbledon Park and Pelham Road Schools,
Miss Hurst, Queen's Road and Effra Road Schools,
