"Prevention of Bed Sores.—Arising out of an article in
the Medical Press describing a new technique for the prevention
of bed sores in the elderly, a trial was carried out with a
silicone barrier cream.
"One of the nurses reported excellent results and 3 others
reported improvement. Another considered there was no particular
advantage in regard to treatment, but that the barrier
cream did seem to prevent extension of the bed sores. Only
one considered there was no improvement."
