ANTE-NATAL AND POST-NATAL SERVICES

Blood grouping/hæmoglobin estimation and Rhesus and Kahn
tests were carried out for all patients attending ante-natal clinics,
except when interim ante-natal care is carried out on behalf of
maternity hospitals.
There were 4 Rhesus negatives and all Kahn tests were
negative.
The total of blood tests was 43—all first tests in respect of
mothers, and in addition 3 secondary tests and 15 for hæmoglobin
only.
The groupings were A.21, B.4, O.10 and AB.3. Hæmoglobin
estimations showed the following results:—
100+ = nil
90—99 = 4
80—89 = 15
70—79 = 18
i.e., 7 or 15.9% were under 70.
60—69 = 4
50—59 = 3
40—49 = nil
