The natural increase of population, i.e., excess of births over
deaths was one.
Deaths.—The Registrar-General's classification of causes of
death by sex totals is given.
The total number of deaths in 1957 (1,324) compares with
1,195 in 1956, the respective death rates being 11.4 and 10.2 per
1,000 population.
The comparability factors for Walthamstow are given by the
Registrar-General as follows :—
