(i) Convalescence.— During 1955, four children were sent
away on medical recommendation to convalescent homes. As in
previous years the arrangements were normally made through the
local branch of the Invalid Children's Aid Association. In addition,
3 mothers and their babies were sent away for a period of convalescence.
