A relatively high standard was maintained throughout the
Borough although one manufacturer had certain difficulties with
respect to his plant. Investigations were carried out in this case
and it appears that the trouble has been located. The plant is not
in operation at present but it is anticipated that it will be operating
early next year. This resulted in some samples being below
standard.
Where unsatisfactory samples were taken, the manufacturer
was informed and further check samples taken as soon as possible.
Where samples were taken of ice cream manufactured outside
the district, copies of these reports were forwarded to the appropriate
local authority.
Lollies (Various).
Twenty-one samples were examined for bacterial purity, eleven
of which were unsatisfactory.

There are no slaughterhouses operating in the Borough.
