STAFF
During the year, 42 whole-time members of the Health Area
Staff resigned their appointments and 52 new appointments were
made.
The apparent inconsistency between the numbers of resignations
and appointments is accounted for by the difference between
the number of vacancies at the beginning and end of the year.
HEALTH CENTRES
(Section 21)
HEALTH CENTRE SITES
The general position remains as detailed in the previous reports,
i.e., six sites have been defined in the Borough on the basis of one
centre per 20,000 population each to serve an area with a radius
of one mile.
GENERAL DENTAL SERVICE
The Senior Dental Officer reports as follows:—
"Considerably more work could have been carried out during
the year had it been possible to devote more sessions to the service
but, with the exception of Monday and Friday evenings, the dental
suites at the Town Hall have been fully occupied by surgeons
throughout the week.
The number of dental sessions undertaken during the last three
years have been—
691 in 1952, 693 in 1953 and 686 in 1954."
