Epidemiology
In November the Council agreed to allow the fees, travelling
expenses, and appropriate subsistence allowances for those sanitary
inspectors who wished to attend a course at the Public Health
Laboratory, Colindale, on the "Bacteriology of Food Poisoning."
The names of six district inspectors were submitted.
DISEASES OF ANIMALS ACTS
Fowl Pest Order, 1936.
Two Orders affecting movements of poultry in the borough
were issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. These
Orders were in respect of poultry brought from infected areas outside
the borough.
One licence was issued during the year allowing an exhibition
of poultry to be held.
Swine Fever (Infected Areas) Order, 1953.
No licences were issued during the year under the above Order
in respect of the movement of swine.
PREVENTION OF DAMAGE BY PESTS ACT, 1949
The agreed scheme of work has continued, and the two
trained Operatives have been fully engaged under the general
supervision of the Sanitary Inspectors.
