GENERAL DENTAL SERVICE
The Senior Dental Officer reports as follows:—
"This year there has been a proportionate increase in the
number of young patients who need rather a long period of treatment
time, mainly for conservative work, and older patients needing
replacements of dentures.
"The staff was slightly increased by an extra session a week
undertaken by a School Dental Surgeon appointed at the end of
1952, and despite the continued enforcement of payment for dental
treatment, I am glad to note that it has been possible to complete
a larger number of operations, especially fillings (2,066 as against
1,591 in 1952). Also the number of dentures has risen from 220
to 280, i.e. an increase of 21%."
