DISEASES OF ANIMALS ACTS
Swine Fever (Infected Areas) Order, 1953.—Eleven movement
licences dealt with involving 59 pigs.
Fowl Pest Order, 1936.
(a) Notification received of an "Infected Place" in a garden
of a house. Nine pullets killed, and poultry batteries and pens
disinfected by an Inspector of the Ministry of Agriculture and
Fisheries. Pullet carcases disposed of by incineration at the Refuse
Destructor.
(b) Order issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries
restricting movement of chickens brought to a house from an
infected area. The Order was observed until the expiry date of
that Order.
The following Orders were dealt with as necessary:—
Parrots and Miscellaneous Birds (Prohibition of Importation)
Order, 1953.
Live Poultry (Restrictions) Order, 1952 (reminder to
dealers).
