F.—PREVALENCE OF, AND CONTROL OVER,
INFECTIOUS AND OTHER DISEASES
General.—The following tables show the age and ward incidence
of the various infectious diseases which are referred to in
later pages of the report. It will be seen from the first table that
there was considerablv less notifiable disease in 1952 than in 1951.

Although there was an increase in notifications of scarlet fever, pneumonia, puerperal pyrexia and food poisoning, this was more than counterbalanced by fewer notifications of measles, whooping cough and dysentery.
