MATERNAL MORTALITY, STILLBIRTHS & NEO NATAL
DEATHS
During 1950 there were no deaths classified as being due to
pregnancy, childbearing or associated therewith.
The following table shows the maternal mortality, stillbirth and neonatal death rates for the past five years:—

The stillbirth rate per 1,000 population was 0.30.
Of the 1,668 birth registrations received in the Department
during the year one was not notified. Appropriate action was
taken.
Of the 1,668 local registrations, 324 belonging to other areas are excluded, leaving a nett total of 1,344.
