HOME HELPS
Applications for the provision of Home Helps, if approved,
are granted financial assistance for a period of fourteen days.
During 1948, 61 applications for Home Help were received—
28 during the period 1st January to 4th July, and 33 during the
period 5th July to 31st December. Up to 4th July, 18 were
"overscale" and therefore not granted assistance, 9 were granted
at part cost, and one free of charge.
PRIORITY SHEET DOCKETS
During 1948, 67 mothers were supplied with 190 four-coupon
certificates and 240 mothers with 595 six'Coupon certificates.
The termination of clothes rationing in March, 1949, rendered
the scheme obsolete. During 1949 while rationing was still in
force, 42 mothers were issued with 131 four-coupon certificates.
STERILISED MATERNITY OUTFITS
A total of 546 sets were supplied.
INSTITUTIONAL TREATMENT
No children were sent to Institutions under your Committee's
arrangements.
