9. OPEN AIR EDUCATION
From March onwards arrangements were made for the medical
examination of parties of 40 boys and 40 girls each four weeks,
before proceeding to the permanent school camp at Itchingfield,
Sussex, and three parties of 11 boys and 11 girls before proceeding
to the permanent school camp at Kennylands, Reading.
10. PHYSICAL TRAINING
Your Committee share the services of two whole-time
Organisers with a neighbouring area. Co-operation has continued
along the lines of previous years.
11. PROVISION OF MEALS
The average number of meads supplied daily to school children
in December, 1947, was 8,775. The quality of the food supplied
and the standard of cooking have been maintained at the previous
high level.
Milk in Schools Scheme.—The arrangements detailed in former
reports were continued in 1947, all the milk supplied being
pasteurised milk sold under licence.
