(g) Ear Disease and Defective Hearing.—Ear Clinic. Dr.
Francis Clarke reports as follows:—
The work carried out at the Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic
during the past year, 1947, has followed along similar lines to those
of previous years. Attendances at the weekly Aural sessions have
been well maintained, and the attendances for the various treatments
prescribed have considerably improved. It is very important
that when a course of special treatment is prescribed, it should be
completed, but there is always a certain number of instances when
the patient fails to attend to complete the full course. This is most
noticeable in the case of the younger children of five years or
under. In these instances the parents have to attend with the
children, and it is very often inconvenient for them to spare the
time. But taking all thess circumstances into account, the
attendances generally have been very satisfactory.
