TO THE CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS OF THE
PUBLIC HEALTH COMMITTEE.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I beg to submit this report for the
year 1944.
The estimated population was 101,140
and the various rates quoted on page 6 are very favourable
to Walthamstow, especially in regard to the incidence of
and mortality from Diphtheria. So also are the infant
mortality rates both legitimate and illegitimate.
Once more I have to thank you for your
consideration and the staff for good work under very trying
circumstances.
I have the honour to be,
Your obedient servant,
A.T.W.POWELL,
Medical Officer of Health.
