SANITARY CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE AREA.
WATER. - The water supply is from the Metropolitan Water Board and
has been satisfactory in quality and quantity.

In addition the inspectorate was one short for the whole of the year
and one Inspector was seconded to War Damage work as from the 6th July.
Of the 1,202 informal notices served during the year 15 were in .
respect of factory premises, and although 1,187 notices were in respect
of houses, 1,139 premises were rendered fit by informal action.
Failing compliance with Statutory Notices by the owners, the Council
carried out these requirements to 14 houses involving an expenditure
of £324,19.9.
