CHILD LIFE PROTECTION,
At the end of 1943 there were 30 nurse children on the
register, compared with 39 at the end of 1942. During the
year 15 removed, 3 were adopted, and 4 reached the age of
nine years. 14 new children were registered. There was
one death among nurse children during 1943.
The following is the information required by Circular 2790
of the Ministry of Health:-
(a) No. of persons who gave notice under Section 7 (3)
during the year 2
(b) Total number of children "adopted" under the section
during the year 2
(c) No. of such children:-
(1) under supervision at the end of the year 2
(11) who died during the year
(111) on whom inquests were held during the year
(d) Particulars of any proceedings taken during the year... -
MASSAGE.- Five massage sessions per week were held at the
Welfare Centres, i.e., Low Hall Lane, Monday, Thursday and
Friday; Highams Park, Tuesday; and Higham Hill, Wednesday.
122 cases attended for massage, and these made 2,816 attendances.
SALE OF MILK, ETC. AT CLINICS.- The value of milk and food
sold and issued free during 1943 was £3,527. 6. 5d.
