To the Chairman and Members of the
WALTHAMSTOW EDUCATION COMMITTEE
Ladies and Gentlemen,,
I present herewith a report on the work of the
School Medical Department during 1942.
The physical and mental well-being of the children
again shows no obvious deterioration due to war conditions.
The expansion of the school meals scheme has unouestionably
helped in maintaining nutrition.
Uncleanliness decreased slightly but scabies
increased. Treatment facilities became available in the
autumn. Facilities for artificial, sunlight treatment were
made available at the Orthopaedic clinic.
Staff changes were frequent amongst the medical
and dental staffs.
Your consideration and the Work of the staff
were again appreciated.
I have the honour to be,
Your obedient servant
A,T.W.POWELL
School Medical Officer
