TO THE CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS OF THE
PUBLIC HEALTH COMMITTEE.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Report for 1941 has again been
curtailed as far as possible and has been duplicated as a
measure of economy.
On the instruction rf the Ministry of
Health no information is given as to population etc. for
reasons of security.
The comparative rates in regard to
England and Wales, London Administrative County and
Walthamstow are favourable to the latter in respect of the
following:- Deaths from all causes; from Typhoid and
Paratyphoid Fevers, Whooping Cough, Diphtheria and Influenza
Notifications in regard to Typhoid and Paratyphoid, Cerebrospinal
Fever, Scarlet Fever, Diphtheria and Erysipelas were
fewer. The incidence of Diphtheria was again particularly
low.
The Public Health services have been
maintained as near to the normal as possible, and I have
again to acknowledge your consideration and the good work
of the Staff.
I have the honour to be,
Your obedient servant,
A.T.W.POWELL,
Medical Officer of Health.
